Every January Kickstarter does an event called "Make 100". The goal is for creators to launch a Kickstarter with at least one of the offered items something that is a limited edition of only 100.
Last year I launched the limited edition enamel pin of Draco (pictured in the main banner). I set the run time of the Kickstarter to to 28 days, figuring that I'd likely get the minimum order amount and then have some left over to sell at conventions. But to my great surprise we hit the goal amount in the first day. Just a day and a half later all 100 pins had been claimed. I was blown away and also in a strange spot that I had a Kickstarter running with no rewards available (I did not plan stretch goals because it was my first KS and I didn't want to get buried).
This year however, I know exactly how to go about this and a plan is already in the making. I will be launching another "Make 100" Kickstarter for LE enamel pins, this time for the compliment of Draco (originally I called it 'moon dragon') for 'Sun Dragon'. Name pending perhaps lol. There will be 4 additional enamel pins set as stretch goals.
Any behind the scenes of my process, progress and inner most thoughts about creating the pins for the Kickstarter will be posted to Patreon at 'The Emergence' ($3) and above tiers as I work through developing the new designs. I already have a rough idea and can't wait to really dive into it!
NEW MAILING LIST options: monthly or “This Just in!”
I added an additional mailing list option for folks that want to receive an email for releases that happen between the monthly emails. So say the monthly email goes out (for example, it already has this month) and then 2 weeks later a limited edition print is released. The monthly email was already sent so it will not be sent again. The “This Just In!” emails will go out to notify of the LE print release. They will also be sent out for other exciting projects or releases that happen between the monthly. Both options are listed on the main list, over on this page
YouTube Art Videos - The Collection is complete!
During the month of December and a tiny bit into January, I painted thirty one mini paintings and created a mini video answering an art question for each! This series was meant to be uploaded during December, but I had surgery the day before Christmas which threw things off a bit. Don't worry, all is well and I'm healing fantastically. :)
I learned a great deal about editing videos, how to make recordings of art look nicer and how to be more comfortable doing voice overs.
